HiSmith Premium Sex Machine (Remote and App) Review: Is It Worth Buying?

Yes, if you want a full-size thrusting machine you can control from across the room. HiSmith publishes a 100 W high-efficiency brush motor, 0 to 240 RPM, a 3 to 15 cm adjustable stroke, 300 N.cm of torque, 30 to 50 dB and an 11.5 kg frame, with a 20 m remote. Skip it if you want portability, or if you need to change stroke depth without stopping.

The quick version

  • HiSmith publishes 100 W, 0 to 240 RPM, 300 N.cm torque, 3 to 15 cm stroke, 30 to 50 dB, 11.5 kg, 20 m remote range and 10 speed patterns.
  • The motor is described by HiSmith as a high-efficiency brush motor. The Gold and Purple Premium machines are listed with 100 W mute turbine motors. That is a real difference, not a paint job.
  • Three ways to drive it: wired speed controller, physical remote, companion app. All three ship or exist independently, so you are not locked to your phone.
  • Stroke depth is set with a locking screw knob. To change it, you stop the machine. If that bothers you, the Servok is the machine that adjusts depth on the fly.
  • It is heavy and it is not portable. 11.5 kg, mains powered, no published waterproof rating.
  • Plain, unbranded packaging and a discreet billing descriptor. Free shipping over $99, same-day dispatch on orders placed before 10am from our Brisbane and Melbourne warehouses.

Who this guide is for

You have already decided a thrusting machine is what you want, and you are now choosing between the HiSmith Premium (Remote and App) and its siblings. You want to know what the machine actually does, whether the Gold and Purple are the same thing in a different colour, and whether the app is a gimmick. You are not looking for a vibrator, and you do not want to be told everything is excellent.

HiSmith Premium Sex Machine (Remote and App) with chrome-plated steel frame and dual T-frame base

The published specs, and what they actually mean

Every figure below is taken from HiSmith's specification list for this machine. Where HiSmith does not publish a number, this guide does not give you one.

Spec HiSmith publishes
Motor High-efficiency brush motor, 100 W maximum power
Speed 0 to 240 RPM (strokes per minute)
Torque 300 N.cm
Stroke length 3 to 15 cm, adjustable via screw knob
Noise 30 dB at low speed, 50 dB maximum
Weight 11.5 kg, with over 4 kg of that in the dual T-frame base
Materials Stainless steel and ABS, chrome-plated
Power Direct mains, 110 to 250 V / 50 to 60 Hz in, DC 24 V / 4.2 A out
Remote range 20 m
Speed patterns 10
Connector KlicLok
In the box Machine, wired speed controller, remote speed controller, nylon carry bag, 21 cm (8 inch) silicone dildo

Two of those numbers do the most work. 240 RPM is the ceiling, and it is a real ceiling, not a marketing figure with an asterisk. 300 N.cm of torque is what stops the machine bogging down when you load a heavy attachment onto it and run it at depth. Power ratings tell you what the motor can draw; torque tells you what it can move. The second number is the one that matters when the machine is under load.

On noise: 30 to 50 dB is HiSmith's own range, and 50 dB is roughly conversation-adjacent, not silent. It is a motor driving a steel rod. In a bedroom with a closed door it is unremarkable. Through a shared wall at 2am it is a machine.

Remote, app and wired controller

The HiSmith Premium (Remote and App) can be driven three ways: a wired speed controller, a physical remote, or the companion app. HiSmith lists both the wired controller and the remote controller in the box.

The remote is rated to 20 m. That is the feature you will actually use. Adjusting speed without reaching back to the machine is the difference between a session with a rhythm and a session interrupted every ninety seconds. The app adds long-distance control and access to the 10 speed patterns.

The honest read on the app: it is a genuine feature for partnered and long-distance play, and it is close to irrelevant if you are alone in the room with a remote in your hand. Do not buy this machine for the app. Buy it for the remote and treat the app as a bonus.

Keep the wired controller within reach when you start. It is the fastest way to take the machine to zero.

Stroke length: 3 to 15 cm, set by hand

Stroke length on this machine adjusts from 3 cm to 15 cm using a locking screw knob on the connecting rod. It is a mechanical adjustment, not an electronic one. Speed you can change from the remote mid-session; depth you cannot.

HiSmith says as much itself. The Servok's listing sells its dynamic depth adjustment on exactly this point, describing stroke depth that changes via app or remote with "no need to pause and manually reconfigure the machine mid-session". That is HiSmith telling you what the Premium requires: you stop, you turn the knob, you lock it, you start again.

For most people this is a non-issue, because you find your depth in the first ten minutes and leave it there. If you like to escalate depth as you go, this is the machine's clearest weakness, and it is the single best reason to look at the Servok instead.

Premium vs Gold vs Purple: the difference is real

The Gold Premium and Purple Premium are not simply this machine in a different colour. HiSmith describes different motors and different remote ranges. The performance figures they publish, however, are identical.

Premium (Remote and App) Gold and Purple Premium
Motor described as High-efficiency brush motor 100 W mute turbine motor
Remote range 20 m 10 m or more
Finish Chrome-plated steel Anodised oxidation finish, stated not to fade
Pre-programmed modes 10 speed patterns 8 thrust modes plus 10 speed patterns
Power, speed, torque Identical across all three: 100 W, 0 to 240 RPM, 300 N.cm
Stroke, noise, weight Identical across all three: 3 to 15 cm, 30 to 50 dB, 11.5 kg

Read the remote figures carefully. HiSmith states a flat 20 m for this machine and "10 m or more" for the Gold and Purple. One is a number; the other is a floor. If you want a stated range, this machine has one.

What HiSmith does not publish is any measured performance difference between a brush motor and a mute turbine motor in these machines. The wattage, the speed range, the torque and the noise range are the same on all three listings. So do not let anyone, including us, tell you the Gold is faster or the Purple is stronger. On the published numbers, they are not. The differences that are real: the motor type HiSmith names, the remote range, the finish, and the mode count.

If a fade-proof anodised finish and 8 pre-programmed thrust modes matter more to you than 20 m of remote range, the Gold or Purple is your machine and this one is the loser. If you want the longest stated remote range in the Premium line, this is it.

Where it sits against the Original, Servok and Mini

Machine Stroke Control Buy it instead if
Premium (Remote and App) 3 to 15 cm Wired, remote (20 m), app You want hands-free speed control on a full-size frame
Premium (Original) 36.5 cm telescopic range, 0 to 90 degree angle On-machine only You do not need a remote and you want the floor-standing chrome steel rod frame
Servok Premium 1.7 to 17 cm, adjustable in use App or remote You want to change depth without stopping, or you want up to 600 strokes per minute at minimum stroke
Mini 3.5 to 8.3 cm Remote and app You need something you can actually store, and shallow stroke suits you

One correction worth making plainly, because it has been stated wrongly before: the Servok is not app-only. HiSmith's own listing says stroke depth adjusts "via the companion app or remote". Note, though, that the Servok's listed box contents do not include a remote controller, while this machine's box contents list both a wired speed controller and a remote controller. If having a remote in the box is a dealbreaker, ask us before you order the Servok rather than assuming either way.

The Servok beats this machine on depth range (1.7 to 17 cm), on top speed (600 strokes per minute at minimum stroke), and on adjusting depth mid-session. It is also heavier at around 15 kg. HiSmith does not publish a noise figure for the Servok, so nobody can honestly tell you which of the two is quieter.

KlicLok attachments and the Suction Cup Adaptor

KlicLok is HiSmith's own patented quick-release attachment mount. It is not a brand and it is not a company, and there is no such thing as a third-party KlicLok attachment. It is an eight-sided connector that clicks on. It does not screw or twist, and the eight-sided geometry is what stops an attachment spinning under thrust.

Any HiSmith attachment labelled "(KlicLok)" fits this machine. The Sex Machine Accessories collection carries the range, and the wider HiSmith machines and accessories collection covers the rest.

To use a dildo that is not a KlicLok attachment, you need the HiSmith 4.5 inch Suction Cup Adaptor. Two things HiSmith states about it, both of which get misreported:

  • It accepts suction-cup dildos with a base diameter of 11.3 cm or under. Anything with a wider base is not suitable for it.
  • It is an adaptor. It connects a suction-cup toy to the machine's KlicLok mount. It does not anchor the machine to a surface, and it is not a load-bearing mount. Never treat it as one.

Setup, stability and positioning

The machine ships with a wired controller, a remote, a carry bag and a 21 cm (8 inch) silicone dildo, so you can run it the day it lands. HiSmith does not publish the insertable length or diameter of the included dildo on this listing, so treat that toy as a starting point rather than a specification.

Stability comes from mass. HiSmith puts over 4 kg of the machine's 11.5 kg into the dual T-frame base, which is what keeps it planted. If it still shifts on your surface, HiSmith sells an anti-rotation non-slip base plate (50.5 x 34 x 6.5 cm, PU underside for floor, non-woven top for bed use) and a pneumatic lift platform that raises a Premium machine between 55 cm and 80 cm and is rated to a 60 kg static load. Both are accessories, not requirements.

Do not expect this thing to be discreet. It is 11.5 kg of steel and it does not fold into a drawer. Storage is a real consideration, and the carry bag is a bag, not a solution.

Safety: read this part

Duty cycle and water. HiSmith does not publish a continuous-use limit for the Premium (Remote and App), so we are not going to make one up. Where HiSmith does publish one, respect it: the Capsule, for example, is limited to 30 minutes of continuous use to let the motor cool. This machine has no published waterproof rating and it runs on direct mains power. Keep water away from the motor housing, the controller and the power supply.

Moving parts. The drive rod reciprocates under 300 N.cm of torque. Keep hair, fingers, bedding and loose fabric clear of the rod while it runs. Keep the wired controller in reach so you can cut speed to zero without moving.

Stroke depth, and anal use. This machine's stroke runs from 3 cm to 15 cm. That maximum is real and it is deeper than most people expect from a spec sheet, so treat it with respect. For anal use, set the screw knob to the shortest stroke, 3 cm, and start there. If you want more depth later, stop the machine and reset the knob. Do not start anywhere near 15 cm.

  • A flared base is mandatory on any anal attachment. A toy without one can be drawn into the rectum and require surgical removal. This is not a hypothetical.
  • The rectum does not self-lubricate. Lube is mandatory, and you need more of it than you think. Reapply.
  • No numbing or desensitising products. Pain is the warning system that stops you tearing. Removing the warning does not increase what your body can take.
  • Stop on sharp pain. Bleeding means stop and seek medical care.
  • Never go anal to vaginal without washing the attachment or changing the condom on it.
  • Douching, if you do it: warm water only, no soap, and do not overdo it.

Lube and cleaning. Silicone lube degrades silicone toys. Use water-based lube with silicone attachments. Our lubricants range covers both, so check the label. Boiling, dishwashers and bleach are only ever an option for non-motorised, 100 percent silicone, glass or steel toys, and never for anything with a motor, a battery or a charging port, which includes the machine itself and its vibrating attachments. Isopropyl damages silicone and crazes ABS, so keep it away from both the toys and the machine's ABS body.

Verdict: is it worth buying?

Buy the HiSmith Premium Sex Machine (Remote and App) if you want a full-size machine with a stated 20 m remote range, a 3 to 15 cm stroke and 300 N.cm of torque, and you are happy to set your depth before you start. It is the Premium model with the longest stated remote range and it comes with both a wired controller and a remote in the box.

Do not buy it if you want to change depth mid-session, in which case the Servok exists and is better at exactly that. Do not buy it if you want a fade-proof anodised finish and 8 pre-programmed thrust modes, because the Gold and Purple have those and this one does not. Do not buy it if storage or portability matters to you, because 11.5 kg of steel is 11.5 kg of steel. And do not buy it expecting silence: HiSmith says 50 dB at full speed, and that is what you get.

Frequently Asked Questions

How fast and how deep does the HiSmith Premium (Remote and App) actually go?

HiSmith publishes 0 to 240 RPM and a stroke length adjustable from 3 cm to 15 cm, with 300 N.cm of torque and a 100 W maximum motor power. Speed is adjustable from the wired controller, the remote or the app. Stroke depth is set mechanically with a locking screw knob, so it cannot be changed while the machine is running.

Are the Gold and Purple Premium machines just this one in a different colour?

No. HiSmith lists the Gold and Purple with 100 W mute turbine motors and a remote range of 10 m or more, while this machine is listed with a high-efficiency brush motor and a 20 m remote. The published performance figures are identical across all three: 100 W, 0 to 240 RPM, 300 N.cm, 3 to 15 cm stroke, 30 to 50 dB, 11.5 kg. The finish differs too, with the Gold and Purple using an anodised oxidation process.

Is the HiSmith Servok app-only, with no remote?

No. HiSmith's Servok listing states that stroke depth adjusts via the companion app or remote. However, the Servok's listed box contents do not include a remote controller, whereas the Premium (Remote and App) box contains both a wired speed controller and a remote controller. If a physical remote in the box is essential to you, confirm before ordering.

How loud is it, honestly?

HiSmith publishes 30 dB at low speeds and 50 dB at full speed. That is quiet enough for a bedroom with the door shut and loud enough to be audible through a thin shared wall. It is a motor driving a steel rod, and no machine in this class is silent. If noise is your main constraint, the number to plan around is 50 dB, not 30.

Can I use it for anal, and what stroke should I set?

Yes, with the shortest stroke. Set the screw knob to the 3 cm minimum and start there. The maximum stroke on this machine is 15 cm, which is a lot of depth, so build up only if you want to and only by stopping the machine and resetting the knob. Use a flared-base attachment, use plenty of water-based lube, and never use numbing products.

What attachments fit, and can I use a dildo I already own?

Any HiSmith attachment labelled "(KlicLok)" fits directly. KlicLok is HiSmith's own eight-sided quick-release mount, not a separate brand, and there are no third-party KlicLok attachments. To use a suction-cup dildo you already own, you need the HiSmith 4.5 inch Suction Cup Adaptor, which accepts bases of 11.3 cm or under. That adaptor connects toys to the machine and is not a load-bearing mount for the machine itself.

Is it waterproof, and how long can I run it for?

HiSmith publishes no waterproof rating for this machine, and it runs on direct mains power, so keep water away from the motor housing, controller and power supply. HiSmith also publishes no continuous-use limit for this model. Where HiSmith does state one, follow it: the Capsule, for example, is limited to 30 minutes of continuous use to allow the motor to cool.
