HiSmith Sex Machines Australia: Which Model Should You Actually Buy?

HiSmith's photos all look the same and every listing says powerful and quiet, so people pick on colour and then wonder why the machine doesn't do the thing they bought it for. Three things separate these eleven machines, and none of them are on the front of the box.

The Three Questions That Decide It

1. Can you give it floor space?

The Premium range and the Servok are floor-standing machines in the 11 to 15 kg bracket. That weight is doing a job: it's what keeps the machine planted while it's working. Light machines move. Heavy ones don't.

If you can't store or set up something that size, the Capsule, Mini, Cannon, Traveler and Tabletop are all smaller. The stroke is shorter to match, which brings us to the question that actually matters.

2. How much stroke do you actually want?

This is the one that separates the range, and it isn't close. Across these eleven machines the stroke runs from about 5 cm to 17 cm, and the short end feels nothing like the long end. No amount of speed closes that gap.

It's an easy thing to get wrong, because the listings point you at the motor. Compare RPM figures and you can end up with a machine that feels underwhelming when the settings are perfectly fine. It isn't the motor. It's the stroke.

3. Does it need to run without a cord?

The Capsule is the only one that does. Everything else here is mains-powered. If that's a hard requirement for you, the rest of this is mostly academic.

Which One to Buy

The Premium (Remote and App): best all-rounder

HiSmith Premium Sex Machine with remote and app control, floor-standing chrome frame

If you want one machine and no second-guessing, this is the one I point people at. Full adjustable stroke to 15 cm, quiet enough to be a non-issue in a normal house, a remote with real range, app control, and a silicone dildo in the box so you're not buying an attachment on day one.

Worth knowing before it arrives: it's 11.5 kg of chrome-plated steel and it lives on the floor. It won't tuck into a bedside drawer, and setup is a two-minute job you'll repeat each time unless you leave it standing.

Is this you? If you've got the floor space and you want the widest range of settings without thinking about it, yes.

The Servok: best for stroke length

HiSmith Servok Premium sex machine, app controlled, longest stroke in the HiSmith range

The Servok goes to 17 cm, the longest HiSmith makes, and it's the only one where you can change the stroke from the app while it's still running. Everything else means stopping to turn a knob. If you like adjusting mid-session, that's a genuinely different experience.

Speed and stroke trade off against each other here, and HiSmith is upfront about it: 600 strokes a minute at the shortest setting, 120 at full stretch. It's the heaviest in the range, and it runs from the app rather than a physical remote.

Is this you? If depth is the thing you actually care about, nothing else in the range comes close.

The Cannon: best for extreme angles

HiSmith Cannon sex machine with remote and app control, widest angle range in the line

The Cannon has by far the widest angle range in the line, which makes it the one for positions the others can't reach. It's compact, it takes a remote or the app, and it's built around angle rather than reach: thrust runs to about 6 cm.

Is this you? If your favourite position needs the machine tilted hard, this is the only one that gets there. If you want depth, look at the Premium or the Servok.

The Tabletop 2.0 Pro: best for table height

Table height without the floor frame. The stroke dials smoothly without tools, there are three ways to drive it (wired controller, remote or app), and it packs down into a carry bag.

It tilts about 15 degrees either side of level, so it works best when the machine and the bed are already close to the same height.

Is this you? If you want to set up on a table or bench and pack it away afterwards, this is the one.

The Capsule: best for cordless

HiSmith Capsule rechargeable cordless sex machine with suction cup mount and app control

19 by 6 cm, mounts on a suction cup, tilts across a wide range, and gives you roughly an hour from a two-hour charge. HiSmith caps it at 30 minutes of continuous use so the motor can cool.

It runs louder than the Premiums, so if you share walls that's worth factoring in.

Is this you? If you want to use it away from a power point, this is your machine. If noise is your main worry, the Premium range runs quieter.

The Travelers: best for suction mounting

HiSmith Pro Traveler sex machine with suction base, remote and app control

Both stick to a smooth surface with a suction base and pack into a case. Same motor, same speed, same 5 cm stroke.

The difference is the base: the "3.0" is a redesigned glass suction mount, not a motor change. If you want the newer mount, take the 3.0. If you'd rather have the wider tilt and the lower noise ceiling, take the Pro Traveler.

Is this you? If you want to mount to a wall, floor or headboard rather than stand a machine up, these are the two.

The Mini: best for a compact setup

HiSmith Mini sex machine with KlicLok connector, remote and app control

Short adjustable stroke, eight thrust modes, app and remote control, and a 7.1 inch silicone dildo in the box. It's the small, simple one, and it stores easily.

Is this you? If you don't need a long stroke and you want it out of sight between uses, this does the job.

Gold, Purple and the Original

HiSmith Gold Premium sex machine with remote and app control HiSmith Purple Premium sex machine with remote and app control HiSmith Premium Sex Machine Original, no remote or app

The Gold and the Purple Premium are the same machine as the standard Premium in a different colour. Same motor, same speed, same stroke, same noise, same weight. The colour comes from an oxidation process rather than spray paint, so it's baked into the metal and won't fade. That's a real point about the finish. It just isn't a performance one, so buy the colour you want and don't expect it to change how the machine runs.

The Premium (Original) is the same core machine without the electronics: no remote, no app. If you were never going to hand control to a partner or programme a pattern, that's money you don't need to spend. If you were, take the Remote and App version.

Safety, Depth and Duty Cycles

These machines apply force you can't instinctively pull away from. That's the appeal, and it's why this section exists.

  • Set the depth with the machine switched off. Knob tightened, speed dial at zero, then power up. Never adjust thrust depth while it's running.
  • Position the machine, don't just wind up the stroke. Depth is mostly about where the machine sits relative to you. If it feels shallow, move before you touch a setting.
  • For anal, start at the shortest stroke and build up. Christine's rule on anything going near the back door is flared base, no exceptions, and the same caution applies here. Don't start in the middle. These machines reach further than you'd guess. The rectum doesn't self-lubricate, so use far more water-based lubricant than you think you need. Stop on sharp pain. Bleeding means stop and seek medical care.
  • No numbing or desensitising products. Pain is the signal that stops you tearing, and a machine will keep going long after you've lost the ability to tell it shouldn't.
  • Never move an attachment from anal to vaginal use without washing it properly or changing the condom.
  • The KlicLok Suction Cup Adaptor is not a mount. It clips suction-cup dildos onto the machine. It doesn't anchor the machine to anything and it isn't rated to take body weight.
  • The Spring Attachment has a manufacturer restriction: no oversized dildos and no male masturbation cups. Keep your face and eyes clear when you connect it.
  • These machines have duty cycles. If one gets hot, stop it and let it cool.
  • Nothing in this range is waterproof. Keep all of it away from the shower and the bath.
  • Water-based lubricant only with the silicone attachments. Silicone lube degrades silicone.

Grab water-based lubricant at the same time as the machine. You'll get through more of it than you expect.
