Pleasing Strings: Australia's Sex Machine Specialists

Pleasing Strings is an Australian-owned online adult store built around one category most retailers treat as an afterthought: sex machines. We warehouse in Brisbane and Melbourne, ship in plain unbranded packaging, dispatch same day on orders placed before 10am, and specialise in the HiSmith range and its KlicLok attachment system.

The quick version

  • Australian owned, online only, warehouses in Brisbane and Melbourne. No Sydney site, no shopfront.
  • The HiSmith thrusting range is our core category. KlicLok is HiSmith's own octagonal quick-release mount, not a separate brand.
  • Plain, unbranded packaging and a discreet billing descriptor on every order, with no need to request it.
  • Orders placed before 10am are dispatched the same day. Free shipping on orders over $99.
  • One-year warranty, in addition to your rights under Australian Consumer Law.
  • Stock moves. Live availability for any model is shown on its product page and at checkout, not in this article.

Who we are

Pleasing Strings is an Australian-owned online adult store with a specific focus: sex machines. The category was underserved here. Most adult retailers carry two or three machines as a curiosity, which means thin selection, staff who cannot answer a question about stroke length, and no support when a motor packs it in eighteen months later. We built the shop around the category instead of bolting it on. If you want the longer version of that argument, read Why Buy From Pleasing Strings?

We hold stock in two Australian warehouses, one in Brisbane and one in Melbourne. That is the whole footprint. Orders ship domestically, so you are not waiting three weeks on a parcel from overseas and you are not paying import duty at the door.

What we sell

The HiSmith range is the core of what we do. HiSmith builds thrusting machines across a spread of sizes, power levels and price points, from the small portable Capsule up to the servo-driven Servok Premium.

What makes that range practical is KlicLok. KlicLok is HiSmith's own patented quick-release attachment mount. It is not a brand, not a company, and not a rival to HiSmith. It is an eight-sided connector that clicks on and off in a second or two. It does not twist or screw. There are no third-party KlicLok-compatible attachments on the market, so anything that is not natively KlicLok attaches only through a HiSmith adapter. Compatibility is not universal across every HiSmith model either, so check the individual attachment page before you buy. The attachment range is listed separately.

Beyond HiSmith we have carried other machine formats. The Cowgirl Premium is a saddle-style machine whose defining feature is a 360-degree rotating attachment rather than a thrusting rod, so it is a fundamentally different sensation. The LoveBotz Athena's Ultimate is a double-penetration machine with two independently angled rods (LoveBotz is a sub-brand of XR Brands). Availability on both of these lines moves. We are not going to tell you in a blog post whether either is on the shelf today. Check the collection page, where live stock is shown.

The supporting catalogue exists to sit alongside the machines, not to dilute them: vibrators, dildos, anal toys, masturbators, couples' toys, BDSM gear, and lubricants.

The HiSmith range, model by model

Every figure below is published by HiSmith on the relevant product page. Where a figure is not published, it says so, and we have not filled the gap with a guess.

Two corrections to the way these machines get described online, including by us previously. First, most of them are not "desktop" machines. The Premium units are floor-standing and weigh about 11.5 kg; the Servok Premium is around 15 kg. Second, the motors are turbine, brush DC or servo depending on the model. There is no HiSmith "basic tier" and no 120W or 150W "premium tier". Those were invented.

Model Motor Speed Stroke Noise
Capsule Not published 370 RPM Not published 63 dB max
Pro Traveler Brush DC 3700 RPM 5 cm 50 dB or under
Traveler Pro 3.0 Brush DC 3700 RPM 5 cm 38 to 56 dB
Mini Not published Not published 3.5 to 8.3 cm Not published
Cannon 48W turbine 240 RPM Up to 6 cm Under 50 dB
Tabletop 2.0 Pro 48W 250 spm 4.9 to 13 cm 30 to 50 dB
Premium Original 100W mute turbine 0 to 240 RPM 3 to 15 cm 30 to 50 dB
Purple / Gold Premium 100W mute turbine 0 to 240 RPM 3 to 15 cm 30 to 50 dB
Servok Premium Servo Up to 600 spm 1.7 to 17 cm Not published

The honest reading of that table. The Servok Premium has the longest stroke in the range at 1.7 to 17 cm and the highest quoted speed at up to 600 spm, and it is the machine to buy if stroke range is what you are after. HiSmith does not publish a noise figure for it, so anyone telling you it is the quiet one is guessing.

The Capsule is the small one, and it is also the loud one: 63 dB maximum, the loudest machine in the range, against 30 to 50 dB for the Premium units. If you are buying a portable machine because you share walls, that number is the one that matters, and the Capsule loses on it.

The Gold Premium is not a more powerful Premium. It is an anodised finish over the same internals as the Purple and the standard Premium: same 100W mute turbine, same 0 to 240 RPM, same 3 to 15 cm stroke. You are paying for the colour, and that is a fine reason to buy it, but it is the reason.

The Traveler Pro 3.0 is not a motor upgrade over the Pro Traveler. The "3.0" is a redesigned glass suction base. Same 3700 RPM brush DC motor, same 5 cm stroke. Buy it for the base or do not bother.

On angle: the Cannon has the widest adjustment in the range at -90 to 80 degrees, which is what makes it the flexible one for positioning. The Tabletop 2.0 Pro has the narrowest at plus or minus 15 degrees. If you need to attack an unusual angle, the Tabletop is the wrong machine and no amount of cushions will fix it.

Why we are online only

We have no physical shopfront, and that is a deliberate choice rather than a stage we have not reached yet. Rent, staff and fit-out on a retail store all end up in the sticker price. Staying online keeps that cost out of the product.

It also means shelf space is not the constraint on range. We can list the HiSmith machines, the attachments and the supporting catalogue without deciding which of them earns its thirty centimetres of shelf.

Discreet by default

Every order ships in plain, unbranded packaging. Nothing on the outside of the box names the product or the store. The billing descriptor on your bank or card statement is equally discreet.

This is not a checkbox you have to find at checkout. Shared house, work address, family home, regional post office where the postie knows your mum: it makes no difference, because every order is handled the same way.

Warranty, shipping and payment

Warranty. Every product we sell carries a one-year warranty. If it develops a manufacturing fault inside that period, we replace it. That warranty sits on top of your rights under the Australian Consumer Law, which are not limited to a replacement and are not limited to twelve months. Nothing in our warranty reduces them.

Shipping. Orders placed before 10am are dispatched the same day. Free shipping applies to orders over $99.

Payment. We take standard card payments, plus Afterpay and other buy-now-pay-later options at checkout. BNPL providers set their own limits on how much they will finance, so whether a particular machine can be split across instalments depends on the price and on your account. The available options are shown at checkout.

Stock. Availability changes, particularly across the machine range. Live stock for any model is shown on its product page and confirmed at checkout. We will not tell you in an article that something is on the shelf.

Questions before you buy. Which machine suits a small apartment, whether an attachment fits your model, what actually separates two lookalike units: ask through the contact page and you will get a direct answer rather than a script.

Machine safety: the things the box does not tell you

Machines apply force at a fixed rate whether or not your body is agreeing with the idea. A few points that come straight from the manufacturer and are worth knowing before the first session.

  • Duty cycles are real. HiSmith limits the Capsule to 30 minutes of continuous use so the motor can cool. That is not a suggestion, it is a thermal limit.
  • The Capsule is not waterproof. Do not take it into the shower or the bath. Where a machine is not rated waterproof, treat it as an electrical device, because it is one.
  • The KlicLok Suction Cup Adaptor is not a mount. It accepts suction-cup dildos with a base up to 11.3 cm. It does not anchor the machine to a surface and it is not load-bearing. Do not put weight on it.
  • The Spring Attachment has an explicit exclusion: HiSmith states not to use oversized dildos or male masturbation cups with it. Ignore that and you are loading a spring past its design limit.
  • For anal use, start at the shortest stroke setting and stay there. A machine will happily drive to its full depth, and the full depth on a Premium is 15 cm and on a Servok Premium is 17 cm. The rectum does not self-lubricate, so use far more lube than you think you need, and use only a flared-base attachment.
  • Stop on sharp pain. Bleeding means stop and get medical attention. Kill the power before you try to reposition anything.

Why buy from Pleasing Strings

We are Australian owned, we hold stock in Brisbane and Melbourne, and machines are the category we actually know. Orders before 10am go out the same day, shipping is free over $99, and everything arrives in plain packaging with a discreet descriptor on the statement. The one-year warranty sits on top of your Australian Consumer Law rights rather than in place of them.

What we will not do is tell you a machine is quiet when the manufacturer has not published a decibel figure, or tell you a model is in stock in a blog post written months ago. The numbers on this page come from HiSmith. The gaps are left as gaps.

Frequently Asked Questions

Where are you based?

Pleasing Strings is an Australian-owned business with warehouses in Brisbane and Melbourne. All orders are dispatched from within Australia. We do not have a physical shopfront and we do not have a Sydney warehouse.

If a machine is listed on your site, is it in stock?

Not necessarily. Listing and availability are different things, and stock across the machine range moves. Live availability is shown on each product page and confirmed at checkout, which is the only place we will state it. If a model shows as unavailable, contact us and we will tell you what is actually happening with it.

Is the Gold Premium more powerful than the standard Premium?

No. The Gold Premium is an anodised finish over the same internals: 100W mute turbine, 0 to 240 RPM, 3 to 15 cm stroke, 30 to 50 dB. It is the same machine in a different colour. If you want more stroke range, the model to look at is the Servok Premium at 1.7 to 17 cm, not the Gold.

Which HiSmith machine is quietest?

Of the models where HiSmith publishes a figure, the Premium units and the Tabletop 2.0 Pro are quoted at 30 to 50 dB, and the Capsule is the loudest at 63 dB maximum. HiSmith does not publish a noise figure for the Servok Premium or the Mini, so we cannot rank them and will not pretend otherwise.

What is KlicLok, and can I use third-party attachments?

KlicLok is HiSmith's own patented eight-sided quick-release mount. It is a connector, not a brand or a company. There are no third-party KlicLok-compatible attachments: a non-KlicLok toy attaches only through a HiSmith adapter. Compatibility also varies between HiSmith models, so check the individual attachment page.

What does the warranty actually cover?

A one-year replacement for manufacturing faults. It is an addition to your rights under the Australian Consumer Law, not a replacement for them. The ACL gives you remedies including repair, replacement or refund depending on the severity of the fault, and those rights are not capped at twelve months. Our warranty does not limit them.

Do you ship discreetly?

Yes, on every order without exception. Packaging is plain and unbranded with no external indication of the contents or the sender, and the billing descriptor on your statement does not reference Pleasing Strings or adult products. You do not need to request it.
